The UK’s national charity for people who need to live without gluten.
About us
For over 50 years, we have been the experts on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet. We are an independent charity helping people to live well, gluten free. We do this by providing our 65,000 plus members with trustworthy advice and support, funding critical research into coeliac disease, working with healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and fighting for better availability of gluten free food. And we do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten. We have offices in England, Scotland and Wales. We are not Government funded and rely on our Members and the generosity of our fundraisers and supporters to continue our work. We want to see the needs of people with coeliac disease and DH recognised by everyone and met in their everyday lives. We do this by: - providing expert and independent information to help people manage their health and diet - campaigning on their behalf to improve access to fast diagnosis, good medical treatment and safe foods - in the home and out - researching new treatments and the possibilities of a cure. Coeliac UK staff work in diverse roles ranging from dietetic advice, campaigning to database management. To find out more about opportunities at the Charity please contact: generalenquiries@coeliac.org.uk As the gluten free diet is the only medical treatment for people with coeliac disease, we are always keen to talk to companies who are interested in producing and selling gluten free food. If you would like to discuss ways in which we could work together or if you want to find out more, please contact our Commercial Team at marketing@coeliac.org.uk who will be pleased to help.

Join our Member Review Panel (MRP) and help review applications for research funding! At Coeliac UK, it's really important to us that our members have their say on the research we fund. Whenever we receive applications for funding, we invite our members to share their views on these. We're incredibly grateful to those who volunteer, as it ensures we're funding research that is relevant to our community. "I'm delighted to be a volunteer on the Member Review Panel. It enables me to use some of my skills to give something back to Coeliac UK for all the ways they have helped me since I was diagnosed with coeliac disease. It's really interesting to hear of all the great research that is taking place around coeliac disease and I really hope that in some small way my views can help improve the lives of people with the disease." - Dr Jonathan Smith Thank you to everyone who has participated in our MRP in the past including Jonathan! Last year, we were fortunate to have 166 volunteers give up their time to provide feedback on the applications we received for funding to our 2023 research calls. Celebrate Volunteers Week by joining us and making a difference. Any member of Coeliac UK is welcome to join. You can read more about the role here: https://bit.ly/4aSVgnp Sign up for the 2024 panel here: https://bit.ly/3x1T9jh Thank you for your support! #VolunteersWeek #CoeliacUK #GlutenFree #Research

Meet Chris Dilloway: Chair of the Board at Coeliac UK "My daughter has coeliac disease and was only 18 months old when she was diagnosed. As a family, we really appreciated the support from Coeliac UK, and we used a lot of the resources available to members to help us adjust to the lifelong diet my daughter needs to follow. We give to the charity, but I wanted to do more to help, so two years ago I applied to volunteer as a trustee. At work, I am a partner in a strategic advisory business, and so I hoped that my professional experience and skills might be valuable to the charity. Having been a trustee for nearly two years now, I can honestly say that it’s some of the most fulfilling and enjoyable work I do. I’m hugely proud of the work that the team at Coeliac UK and all of our wonderful volunteers do."
