We rely on the generosity of our committed Members and supporters who kindly leave a gift in their will to secure the future of Coeliac UK. Not only does this create a fitting legacy, it also passes on some excellent tax advantages to you and us.
Making a will is the only way you can be sure your estate will be handled according to your intentions. In addition, Inheritance Tax legislation means that if you don’t prepare properly a substantial part of what you leave behind may go to the State.
Please consider joining the growing number of people who have decided to leave a gift in their will to Coeliac UK. These gifts will help us to continue raising awareness and fund more ground breaking research into the nature of the disease and potential cures. If you do wish to leave a gift to Coeliac UK, your donation can be as small or as large as you choose.
Leaving a gift to Coeliac UK will allow us to plan for the future. We do this by: ensuring better access to safe food in and out of the home; campaigning for better access to diagnosis and care; providing expert information and support for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis .
Legacies have helped Coeliac UK fund many research projects, we have seen legacy income increase dramatically over the years enabling us to dedicate invaluable funds to these projects.
"Giving a legacy was not something I had thought about at all until the death of my own mother. As an executor for her estate I saw first hand the advantages of having a properly arranged will with clear instructions concerning charitable donations. I also realised that these would be taken care of before the estate was calculated for inheritance tax and this seemed like a very good idea – better for a charity to have the money than the treasury!
As a long time Member of Coeliac UK, and a former Governor , I obviously know what great work is achieved from the donations and Membership fees they receive. It seemed sensible to go one step further with my giving and ensure that a legacy is left in my will for the charity to carry on working for people with coeliac disease in the future. It was easy to do and I have the comfort of knowing that my wishes will be carried out" Rosemary Hoyle
