Office Volunteer

Extra hands in the office are always welcome. Our office volunteering opportunities are usually administrative roles, although we do try to meet your skill set wherever possible.

DUTIES

  • Administration support: Data entry, filing, monitoring emails
  • Compilation of New Member packs
  • Assisting with mass postal mailings
  • Proofreading
  • Further administration tasks to be reviewed and agreed

 DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Good IT skills, preferably excel, word and outlook applications
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Ability to be sensitive to the needs of our Members
  • Ability to work confidentially

 This would be an excellent starting point for somebody seeking entry into the charity sector. No previous knowledge of coeliac diseaseA condition where a person is unable to eat gluten as it makes their body attack itself. or dermatitis herpetiformisUsually shortened to DH, this is a form of coeliac disease where the skin is affected with small blisters. (DH) is necessary

TIMES REQUIRED

Tuesday to Friday from 10am – 3pm. We are flexible in regard to these hours

MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

The Coeliac UK Volunteer Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting volunteers, although there will be times when you are asked to work alone. Each volunteer will have the opportunity for one-to-one meetings with the Volunteer Manager.

TRAINING

An induction and basic training will be given on starting the role. Opportunities for further training will be given as required.
