Thank you!

We are very grateful for the financial support we receive from our members and friends of Coeliac UK. Here are just a few of the many ways in which money has been raised.

Marathon Runners do us proudChris Smith

Coeliac UK would like to congratulate and thank the ten runners who bravely ran and completed the London Marathon . They've been training hard for the last five months through treacherous weather conditions, but have done a fantastic job in raising over £6,000 and there is still much more to come in. They have also been busy conducting interviews and helping us to raise awareness of coeliac disease through the media.

Their finishing times were:
Lorna Garrod - 3 hours 23 mins
Harpinder Collacott - 3 hours 31 mins
Tony Hart - 3 hours 34 mins
Steven Hayne - 3 hours 55 mins
Gavin Morgan - 4 hours 23 mins
Chris Smith - 4 hours 36 mins
Sally Wilson - 4 hours 54 mins
Paul Tucker - 5 hours 50 mins
Jean Davies - tbc
Elias Adamopoulos - tbc

These are all fantastic times, and we'd really like to take the opportunity to thank you all for such incredible efforts to raise money and awareness all in the name of helping people with coeliac disease.

Thank you very much!

Thank you Martine Sampson
On Monday 27 August 2007, Martine Sampson, whose mother has coeliac disease, completed a two-way cross-Solent swim (Southsea-Ryde-Southsea) - a distance of approximately 8 miles. It took around 3 hours 40 minutes to complete the swim in 'lumpy' conditions. Martine raised a grand total of £1,037.06 in aid of Coeliac UK thanks, not only to her own fundraising, but also because BAE Systems Insyte fund matched her efforts. Martine was inspired to raise money for Coeliac UK after the difficulty her mum had getting diagnosed with coeliac disease. Since her diagnosis, Martine's mum has taken up running and has even completed the London Marathon. Coeliac UK would like to say well done  from all of us, to Martine for her fantastic achievement, and also thank you very much for the money and awareness raised in aid of Coeliac UK.
