Crossed Grain symbol

When you see our Crossed Grain symbol on packaging it tells you that the food is gluten-free.

Some supermarkets use their own version of the Crossed Grain SymbolOur licensed symbol which manufacturers buy to display on gluten-free food. .

Some manufacturers and supermarkets use their own symbol to show that a food is gluten-freeWhen a food has less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten so it is safe for people with coeliac disease to eat. , or use a statement to clearly show that the product is suitable for you.

You may come across a variety of different terms such as:

  • GlutenA protein that is found in the cereals wheat, barley and rye. -free
  • Suitable for coeliacs
  • Suitable for a gluten-free diet

Manufacturers do not have to label their products in these ways, although some may choose to. When a manufacturer uses these symbols or statements, the product will be gluten-free.

Even if a food does not use one of these, you can tell from the label whether it is suitable for a gluten-free diet or not.
