Member2Member programme

Coeliac UK has recently launched a new service for parents and carer Members of the Charity. The programme, Member2Member, is aimed at providing support to parents and carers of children who’ve recently been diagnosed with coeliac diseaseA condition where a person is unable to eat gluten as it makes their body attack itself. .

Adjusting to the diagnosis of coeliac diseaseA condition where a person is unable to eat gluten as it makes their body attack itself. can be a daunting time, especially if it’s a child going through the process. Coeliac UK has many Members with years of experience in supporting their child and managing the gluten-freeWhen a food has less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten so it is safe for people with coeliac disease to eat. diet and our Member2Member programme looks at linking these experienced voices with others.

The service aims to put people in touch with other parents and carers who are in similar situations all over the UK, operating via telephone and over email and will focus on answering common questions and sharing experiences and tips.

If you are the parent or carer of a child who has recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease and would like to be paired with another parent experienced in the early stages of diagnosis, or, simply for more information, please contact member2member@coeliac.org.uk or telephone our MembershipIf you have been diagnosed with coeliac disease, are seeking a diagnosis or have an interest in the gluten-free diet then you can become a Member of Coeliac UK. The programme will initially trial for 6 months with a view to roll out to all new Members of the Charity if successful.
