Primary Care 2010, 5-6th May

Primary Care 2010 is now in its 20th successful year. This years event is being held at the NEC Birmingham, UK.

This two day conference covers a range of topics and provides a great opportunity to network with other healthcare professionals. The event has 14 different programmes to choose from including mother and baby, child health, older people and nutrition programmes to name a few.

The nutrition programme includes a presentation from Dr Kate Evans, a clinical researcher in coeliac disease, on the ‘Best practice in managing coeliac disease’.

Nutrition in life, 17th May 2010

This years Nutrition in life event is being held at The Institute of Physics in London.

The day includes eight presentations from leading professionals in all areas of nutrition. It will cover a range of topics from coeliac disease to metabolic disorders in children to nutrition in stroke. Professor David Sanders, consultant and honorary professor in gastroenterology will be speaking on ‘Gluten sensitivity’.

The event includes practical advice, backed by the latest research which can help provide you with information that can be useful for everyday practice.

The Allergy & Gluten-Free Show, 21st -23rd May

Allergy Show

F2F Events Ltd, the new owners of the Allergy and GlutenFree Show, have teamed up with Coeliac UK, to offer all of our Members a free pair of tickets to the show (worth £18 – under 16’s go free)!

The Allergy & Gluten Free Show is the only national event for the ever-growing number of people living with allergies and food intolerances, focusing on the entire range of allergy issues, treatment and products.

The Show will be packed full of new features giving you the opportunity to sample Free Fromfoods, watch cookery demonstrations, meet Coeliac UK staff and discover the top tips for living gluten-freelives. A host of experts including some of the UK’s best known nutritionists and dietitians, will be on hand to give you the latest advice and to answer your questions.

Coeliac UK Annual Conference 2010, Edinburgh

Our 2010 Annual Conference will be held in Edinburgh on Saturday 26 June at Napier University - www.napier.ac.uk. The day will play host to a range of activities, including:

  • A food fair with around 30 gluten-free manufacturers
  • Dietetic advice
  • a special information workshop for newly diagnosed Members
  • Diet and health Information sessions
  • Cookery demonstrations
  • An ‘Ask the experts’ panel

The Society for Academic Primary Care Annual Conference, 7-9th July

This years Annual Conference is being held at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

The conference includes presentations covering research and education in primary care and family medicine and asks the question ‘Can primary care research make a difference?’.

UEGW Barcelona 2010, 23-27th October

The 18th United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) is being held at the International Convension Centre Barcelona (CCBI), Barcelona, Spain.

After a successful Gastro 2009 event in London last year UEGW are moving to Barcelona.

This event is for researchers, academics and physicians and provides information on the newest research advances as well as clinical and technical innovations in all areas of gastroenterology, hepatology and related fields.

Professor David Sanders, at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and a member of Coeliac UK Health Advisory Council will be speaking on coeliac disease at this event.
