Early Day Motion on Prescriptions

Over 100 MPs have now signed the Early Day Motion (EDM) in the House of Commons which was tabled by Gordon Banks MP, the Secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Coeliac Disease and  DH, expressing concern at the recent moves by PCTs to cease or restrict prescriptions for gluten-free products and the fact that this seems to be motivated by price rather than clinical considerations.

We are encouraging other MPs to show their support by adding their names to the motion. Please encourage your local MP to sign the EDM - number 276 entitled 'Prescriptions for people with coeliac disease'. Click here to read the full text of the EDM and to see which MPs have already signed it.

The APPG officers also agreed to write to the Department of Health to enquire what guidance was being given to PCTs on this issue.
