Membership Fees result

Following the thorough consultation and subsequent ballot of Coeliac UK Members on the introduction of an annual subscription fee, we are pleased to announce the result. 

A majority vote of 74 per cent opted for the proposal with 26 per cent voting against.  The result is a clear one and the Board would like to respect the views of the majority of the Members by introducing a Member fee as soon as possible.

Next Steps
In January 2008 we will issue a letter to all Members alerting them to the result of the vote and a move to a fee.  We will be providing Members with every opportunity to take up paid membership throughout 2008 and will be working with our Volunteers and others to get the message across that, should anyone struggle to pay the fee, we have provisions in place to help them.  We have a clear pathway for the future and hope we can now move forward positively and confidently with a clear mandate.
