Trufree advises customers of new recipe

Trufree Custard Creams & Bourbon Biscuits

We have been advised by Trufree, the maker of wheat-free and gluten-free biscuits, snacks and pasta, that as part of a recent re-launch the new improved recipe for its new custard cream biscuits now contains a small amount of milk. This makes the products unsuitable for anyone with a milk allergy.

Managing director, Chris Hook said: “The packs clearly state in the allergens box that the biscuits contain milk. However, as a precaution we have recalled all packs in circulation and have added a ‘now contains milk’ sticker to all new packs after a number of calls from concerned customers who have to follow a milk free diet seeking clarification.”

He added: “These are our most popular biscuits and we would like to reassure our customers that we are committed to offering them delicious wheat-free and gluten-free food.”

At the end of January Trufree Bourbon biscuits will also be re-launched with a new recipe that includes a small amount of milk. On-pack labels stating ‘now contains milk’ will be used to draw consumer’s attention to the change.

Anyone who has bought a packet of the custard creams and is concerned should call the Trufree Careline on 07041 544 044. Trufree says they will be happy to offer a full refund to anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.
