Christmas Festivities at Thoresby Hall

Over 180 Coeliac UK Members and their friends and family got in the Christmas spirit enjoying a long weekend break at Thoresby Hall Hotel, near Ollerton, Nottinghamshire.

Some of the weekend highlights included, a reception with mulled wine and gluten-freeWhen a food has less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten so it is safe for people with coeliac disease to eat. mince pies, a festive glutenA protein that is found in the cereals wheat, barley and rye. -free cream tea, a talk on the history of Thoresby Hall and a special Masquerade Ball on Sunday evening. Guests were also invited to a special presentation on Saturday morning by Commercial Partnerships Assistant Zoe Bishop who gave a unique insight into the Commercial team, talking about the department’s role within Coeliac UK.  Zoe was delighted to present to all the Members and answer questions.

As a special Christmas treat a goody bag was left in all Members’ rooms on Sunday morning, containing an array of gluten-free goodies including a loaf of Warburtons bread,  a tin of Amy’s Kitchen chunky tomato soup, an American Muffin Company muffin, Dietary Specials sweet breakfast rolls, Kent and Fraser biscuits all packed in a Genius hessian bag. Coeliac UK would like to thank all their commercial partners for providing the samples for the goody bags and Welsh Hills for providing the Love More Free FromA range of food that is free from certain allergens - for example gluten or dairy. Foods mince pies for the welcome reception.
