Coeliac UK, the national charity for people with coeliac diseaseA condition where a person is unable to eat gluten as it makes their body attack itself. , surveyed over 1,600 members and found that nearly 60% of them had previously been incorrectly diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) instead of being tested and diagnosed with coeliac disease.
