July 2016 media round up

Since last month’s update we have issued nine press releases! The majority have been about gluten-free prescription consultations by CCGs across the country which have gained a number of pieces of media coverage – see below. In addition press releases were also issued for our Food Fair and AGM in Bath and for our recent pop up event in Birmingham.


As part of our prescriptions campaign, we have issued press releases to regional media highlighting our concern over CCG consultations. The story has been covered by a wide range of publications including:

An article was also published in the hard copy of the Leicester Mercury and our Chief Executive, Sarah Sleet has been interviewed on Dee 103FM, BCB Radio in Bradford, BBC Radio Tees and on BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Heart Cornwall in the last few weeks.

In other news, Coeliac UK’s Annual conference and food fair was covered by the Bath Chronicle and they also published an additional piece about getting diagnosed. The Bath Echo also covered the event as did the Western Gazette in their print copy.

There was a lovely feature in the Dudley News about a young fundraiser. There has also been coverage in the Huffington Post highlighting the best gluten-free restaurants in Birmingham, the Plymouth Herald covered a seafood restaurant going gluten-free and the Nottingham Post covered the only gluten-free café in the Midlands. The Phoenix newspaper in Birmingham highlighted our recent pop up event.

 An article in Educatering magazine quotes Kathryn Miller, Head of Food Policy and there has also been coverage in other trade catering press including:
