Tackling your first gluten free Christmas can be daunting, but Joe’s planning ahead to make sure he can enjoy a Christmas dinner that’s as special as ever.
“It’s taken two years to finally get diagnosed with coeliac disease this summer, so this will be my very first gluten free Christmas!
“Although I will have just turned 15, I have decided to take charge of the Christmas lunch to ensure that I can enjoy a safe gluten free meal and help educate the rest of my family about the importance of a strict gluten free diet, even on Christmas Day! I’ll also help them learn about the need for no cross contamination.
“So much of a Christmas lunch is already gluten free, such as the turkey and veg. You can now get gluten free sausages too, so I can make pigs in blankets for everyone!
“I will also be trying my hand at gluten free Yorkshire puddings. I plan to have lots of gluten free snacks to enjoy throughout the Christmas period so as not to miss out and I’m also looking forward to experimenting with some new recipes.”
