Classic burgers with BFree burger buns

• Enjoy the good weather with BFree Burger Buns. The bun for all seasons! Ideal for burgers and sandwiches, whether it’s a barbecue with friends or a packed lunch. They’re super soft, but hold their own whatever the filling plus they’re the lowest calorie burger buns on the market.

Ingredients

  • 4 BFree Burger Buns
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 4 burgers of choice (we recommend Beyond Burgers)
  • 4 cheese slices (we recommend non-vegan Monterey jack cheese)
  • 8 pickle slices
  • Hot dog mustard
  • Chipotle mayonnaise*
  • Lettuce leaves or watercress
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Regular mayonnaise or veganaise*
For a quick pickled onions and red cabbage:
  • 2 red onions thinly sliced
  • Half a small red cabbage thinly sliced
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 tsp sea salt

Method

  1. Place the onions and red cabbage in two separate bowls, add the juice of one lemon and 1 tsp of sea salt to each, scrunch together until combined and set aside. Stir every now and then
  2. Pre heat the oven to 180°C Fan/356°F
  3. In a small bowl whisk the egg and brush onto the top of each bun
  4. Place the buns on a baking tray and place in the oven for about 5 minutes until warmed through and the egg wash has cooked and set to a shine. Remove and set aside
  5. Prepare the remaining ingredients and place on serving dish for people to build their own burgers
  6. When you are ready to serve, cook the burgers per packet instructions, whist cooking cut the buns in half and cook on a griddle pan to char the middle sides
  7. Serve the buns with all the fillings and sauces of choice. French Fries essential!
