Coeliac Coventry Group Newsletter November 2017
Next Meeting on Saturday 18th November - 2.00 pm at
Hearsall Baptist Church Centre
Queensland Avenue, Chapelfields, Coventry CV5 8FE
At this meeting we look forward to a visit from Ellis Ward of Gluten Free Foods, Hertfordshire to talk about their products, with an opportunity to purchase some of them.
We also hope to have Dieticians at this meeting.
Although we only had around twenty people, half of that being committee, we had a really good and fun time. We used that opportunity to say thank you to John Cremins for all the work he has done as Treasurer of the group.
As you know we had our Information Table in Tesco’s, Cannon Park. We were there for two days and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff we dealt with. They even set up a small raffle table of their own next to ours hoping that would also attract interest in ours. We were able to speak to a reasonable amount of people, but most busy shoppers didn’t seem to have the time to stop. This was also the first event for us to display the new Coeliac UK logo and colourings which looked very smart.
This is booked for Wednesday 29th November. Please see the attached Menu information and Booking Form. I understand they have a new chef who has some new good ideas. We have had several lovely evenings there and hopefully this will be no exception, so if interested, make sure you book your place early.

Raffle and Refreshments
We will be holding our usual raffle £1 per strip. Do you have something suitable towards the prizes? Wonderful if you have.
Anyone good at baking cakes? Could you bring something for us all to share with a cup of tea/coffee? We need a good supply to enable everyone to have a choice.
If what you provide is wheat or dairy & gluten free, it would be really helpful if you could label it so. We were really short of cake at the AGM so your donation is very much appreciated.
We make a charge of £1 for 1 cake and a drink, other cakes can be purchased once everyone has been served.
Cheap at half the price and all gluten free. Please only take ONE cake, to give everyone a chance to choose.
All this helps to fund the group. i.e. Renting our meeting venue, paying for stationery, and occasionally sending a donation to Coeliac UK who give us so much valuable and helpful information.
