NORFOLK HAS A FANTASTIC GLUTEN FREE OFFERING

Check back at this page from time to time, we'll populate it with reviews, eating out ideas and member tips.

The Gluten Free Club - Monthly meeting

A chance for everyone on a gluten free diet to come along and chat with other Coeliacs' and gluten free foodies once a month, and to experience the gluten free café in the evening for yummy food; we may even have a few special guests and new things to try.   There will be lots of dairy free, healthier eating, and veggie/vegan options. We want to have more than just a monthly meeting, we'd love to meet up together across East Anglia for food and drinks, try out new venues and make friends. We also want to support the newly diagnosed, answer your foodie questions, and help those who need it, for whatever reason they need to follow a gluten free diet. Come along to see us at The Gluten Free Café on Timberhill - just turn up on the night. Everyone welcome. See THE Gluten Free Club, Norwich, Norfolk on Facebook for details of upcoming events or www.facebook.com/norfolkglutenfree to find out more about the venue

COELIAC GROUP CHRISTMAS LUNCH REVIEW – The Boathouse, Ormesby  We'd like to thank and congratulate The Boathouse for once again providing such a fabulous Christmas Lunch. The venue was beautifully prepared and looked super, whilst the Christmas tree and festive background music created a delightful atmosphere. Our every need was catered for, even though we asked for changes at the very last minute, and the staff were brilliant, attentive and very professional.  Once again we cannot praise too highly the menu, the quality, the preparation and the service of our lunch.  Everyone who attended the lunch had a wonderful afternoon at the Boathouse, and we're are sure that we all look forward to visiting again at sometime in the future.

REVIEW – Cote -  October 7th 2017

We had another outstanding experience at Cote Brasserie, Exchange Street Norwich the other week. I booked online and mentioned that the two of us were gluten free. We duly arrived and were escorted to our table, where, lo and behold, two gluten free menus were awaiting us.  Great start I thought, and it got better. It was a busy Saturday evening with a number of large groups elsewhere in the restaurant, but at no point did the level of service drop below excellent.  Oh the food, I hear you ask, well .. the choice is extensive and absolutely wonderful. I've yet to have a poor meal in any Cote and that night's was no exception. Starters were a Warm Roquefort Salad and Prawn Gratinee, followed by Roast Duck Breast and Fillet steak, topped off with Chocolate Pot and Crème Caramel. Delicious!! and every dish comes adorned with a little Gluten Free flag.  Did I mention the service? Well when it came round to dessert, the waiter approached with menus but before he got to us, he remembered we were gluten free so backtracked and brought us the proper ones. All in all a fabulous evening, yes it's a little expensive but I only have one birthday a year, and I'm worth it!   - Mike
