Closing date: 23 September 2019, 10:00 (GMT+1)
Outcome notification: Early December 2019
Estimated project start: January 2020
Researchers are invited to submit applications to this joint call for the epidemiology of coeliac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), we require the incidence and prevalence of these conditions in the UK as of 2019, categorised for age (yearly for children, range for adults), gender, ethnicity, geographical region, socioeconomic status and age within geographical region. We would also like to know how many people diagnosed with these conditions, were previously diagnosed or treated for irritable bowel syndrome.
Both charities have an Awareness Week in May 2020, the ability to achieve preliminary prevalence figures by the beginning of May, would be advantageous.
It is expected that at least two manuscripts will be submitted for potential publication, one for coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis, the other for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
