Coeliac disease is a serious autoimmune condition that affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. Only 36% are medically diagnosed, meaning there are an estimated 500,000 people living in the UK who are experiencing symptoms – and these symptoms are having a big impact on their lives.
Coeliac UK works hard to raise awareness of the symptoms of coeliac disease, provide advice on how to get diagnosed, and make sure the wider community understand the importance of the gluten free diet for those affected.
By raising awareness, we can help complete our mission that no life should be limited by coeliac disease.
We’re aiming for a world without coeliac disease and we’re working hard to initiate research that can lead to a cure.
