Today, we support over 60,000 members and reach around 1 million people across the UK. With an income of approximately £4.5m and a team of around 60 staff, we are a well-established charity with the ambition to go further and faster for our community.
We are now looking for two new Trustees to help shape what comes next.
The opportunity to make a real difference
This is not just a governance role.
As a Trustee, you’ll help shape the future of a national charity that improves lives every day, including for people who don’t yet know they have coeliac disease.
You’ll work alongside a passionate Board and executive team to:
- Set strategic direction and ensure we deliver meaningful impact
- Provide constructive challenge and insight in a complex, evolving environment
- Support the organisation to grow its reach, influence and effectiveness
- Ensure strong governance, accountability and long-term sustainability
Your contribution will help us break down barriers, improve everyday life, and advance research towards a cure.
Who we’re looking for
We’re particularly interested in individuals with experience in:
- Law (corporate, trademark or intellectual property)
- Investment management
- Medical or scientific research
- Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
- The charity or not-for-profit sector
But expertise isn’t enough. We’re looking for people who:
- Care deeply about improving people’s lives
- Bring sound judgement and strategic thinking
- Are collaborative, inclusive and values-driven
- Can balance support with constructive challenge
If your skills aren’t listed here but you feel that you have useful experience, then please do apply. Even if the Trustee role isn’t for you, you may be able to help us in other ways.
Why join Coeliac UK?
Coeliac UK is at a pivotal point in its development.
As we move into our next strategic phase, we are focused on increasing our reach, strengthening our influence, and delivering greater impact for the people we serve, particularly the many who remain undiagnosed or unsupported.
This is a chance to contribute at a moment where the decisions we make will shape our direction for years to come: how we grow, how we prioritise, and how we accelerate progress towards our long-term ambition of a world where no life is limited by coeliac disease.
There is still significant work to do – from improving diagnosis rates and tackling inequalities in access to gluten free food, to advancing research and strengthening support for our community.
As a Trustee, you will play a key role in helping us meet that challenge.
What we offer
- A comprehensive induction and ongoing support
- A collaborative and supportive Board environment
- The opportunity to contribute to meaningful, lasting change
- Reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses
Applicants are invited to submit their CV and covering letter to

The closing date is 31 May 2026, but the charity may close the opportunity early if a high volume of applications is received.
