We are aware that some Members in the Herts Valley area have received letters from their GP surgery advising them that there has been a change to local prescribing policy and that they will be restricted to 8 units per month of bread and flour only.

We are aware that some Members in the Herts Valley area have received letters from their GP surgery advising them that there has been a change to local prescribing policy and that they will be restricted to 8 units per month of bread and flour only.

From communication with Herts Valley clinical commissioning group (CCG), we have had it confirmed that this policy has not yet been finalised. We are in ongoing communication with the CCG and have now escalated our concerns about implementation of the restricted gluten-free prescribing policy by local GP surgeries and the lack of consultation to the Accountable Officer.
