Supporting Vale of York CCG’s pilot of alternative gluten-free food scheme

The Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is recruiting local volunteers to trial a new scheme which provides gluten-free food vouchers to support people diagnosed with coeliac disease.

Coeliac UK is really pleased to see the Vale of York being innovative and trialling a different approach which provides support for people with coeliac disease and the burden of a gluten-free diet, food for which routinely costs 3-4 times more than gluten-containing equivalents. We will be talking in more detail with the CCG shortly to see how we can evaluate the effectiveness of the approach for more CCGs.
