Community Events Assistant

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Head Office, High Wycombe (office based, requiring some travel around UK & occasional weekend working, with some flexibility for hybrid working.)
Salary: Circa £23,000 per annum (GA 6.1)

Coeliac UK is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Community Events Assistant to support the planning and delivery of events that connect and support people affected by coeliac disease. This is a hands-on and varied role within the Audience Engagement Department, working closely with colleagues, volunteers and external partners to ensure events run smoothly and deliver a positive experience for everyone involved. You will support everything from event administration and promotion to logistics, data management and on-the-day delivery, helping ensure both staff-led and volunteer-led events are successful. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or build a career in the charity or events sector, whether or not you have prior events experience.

Community and Events Fundraising Manager

Contract Type: Fixed Term (12–14 months), Full Time (35 hours per week)
Location: Head Office, High Wycombe (hybrid working, minimum 2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £35,000 per annum (GA 4.2)

Coeliac UK is looking for an energetic and experienced Community and Events Fundraising Manager to lead and develop our community and challenge events fundraising during a maternity cover period. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high-profile challenge events and inspire individuals and groups to fundraise for Coeliac UK, ensuring every supporter has a positive and rewarding experience. Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Marketing, Membership and Volunteering, you will help grow participation, maximise income and strengthen long-term supporter engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting vital work for people affected by coeliac disease.

Pension 

New recruits are automatically enrolled into our Group Personal Pension Plan. We are proud to share that as an employer, we match contributions of up to 6%.

Hours of work 

We offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement which supports our team members work-life balance. The standard working week at Coeliac UK is 35 hours and flexible work hours can be agreed with line management.  

Holiday entitlement 

The basic holiday entitlement is 33 days leave per year, inclusive of 8 bank holiday days. The holiday year runs from January to December. 

Team members also benefit from our three-day closure over the Christmas period.

Your wellbeing

Coeliac UK supports our team’s wellbeing, offering access to a free counselling service provided by Zurich Insurance, we have a private wellbeing room at our head office, and mental health first aiders are ready to support any team member in need. We conduct a mental health survey each year, but all team members also have the option to complete a private mental health survey through the platform WeThrive at any time, which will offer personalised recommendations.

We also actively participate in Mental Health Awareness Week, through organised activities and sharing resources.

 

Your development

Coeliac UK is committed to the training and development of its employees. We have a performance review and development scheme designed to help all staff to develop in their roles.  

Financial support and may be offered to individuals who are studying for professional qualifications related to their roles, with time off for study periods. 

 

Our office environment

In 2024 we moved into our office which provides team members with an open and comfortable space to collaborate, connect, and work. We are located in in a central, easily accessible location, with a staff restaurant and onsite parking available.
