Your Coeliac UK Membership programme is changing

Important changes to your Coeliac UK Membership that will be introduced August 2026.

At Coeliac UK, our focus is to ensure our members have access to trusted support and information to help them manage their gluten free life when and where they need it most.

Over the last few years, we have seen significant changes in the provision of public healthcare and specialist support. During this time, our mission has not changed and, in many ways, it has grown in importance. This means our membership programme needs to grow to meet the needs of the community now and in the future.

To provide the care and support our members need, we are introducing a series of changes to our membership packages. These include:

  • The membership fees have increased. However, this is not the case for all members. Please see the FAQs below.
  • The ‘Digital’ and ‘Complete’ packages are now named ‘Core’ and ‘Core Plus’. The benefits for each package are unchanged; they are now clearer and easier to compare.
  • We are launching a new membership package called ‘Complete Care’. More detail is below.

Increasing our membership fees is not a decision we have taken lightly. The membership fee enables us to continue to deliver and improve the services that many people use every day to make confident and safe gluten free choices.

You can find a full breakdown of the updated membership packages and their benefits below.

We understand that you may have more questions. The FAQ section below has been developed to cover the changes in more detail and how the changes impact you.

If you have any questions about your Coeliac UK membership, please contact our team through our website by clicking below or by emailing us on [email protected]. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for your continued support.

Over the last 3 years we have seen significant changes in the provision of public healthcare and specialist support. During this time our mission has not changed and in many ways, it has grown in importance. To continue to provide the care and support you need we have made a small increase to our membership fees. This is not a decision we take lightly. Your membership fee directly supports the maintenance and development of specialist tools and resources that are used every day by members to make confident and safe gluten free choices.

Our members are a vital part of our community. Your continued support also enables us to help more people understand what coeliac disease is, recognise the symptoms and get the care they need once diagnosed. It supports groundbreaking research and powers us to drive change to food labelling, gluten free access and healthcare support.

If you joined as a member from January 2026 your membership fee is not increasing. If you joined before 2026, we’re introducing the new membership prices gradually. If your renewal falls between now and the end of 2026, your updated price will take effect from September. Members renewing in 2027 will see their uplift applied in stages as well. You’ll receive separate notification about your renewal and any changes to your fee.

Your membership benefits will not change. You will continue to have access to a wide range of support and specialist tools used by the gluten free community to make confident gluten free choices. We’ve continued to improve many of the services, including:

We’re committed to making sure your membership continues to give you exceptional value and support.

To make the membership structure clearer and more reflective of what each tier offers, we’ve updated the names and introduced a new tier for people who want more tailored dietitian support. This helps us support members more effectively now and gives us room to grow our offering in the future.

Your benefits are not changing. You will still have access to the same benefits that you had with your Digital or Complete membership packages. Only the name has changed.

No, nothing is being taken away. In fact, many benefits have been improved, and you now have more flexibility to choose the package that best suits your needs.

You’ll see your updated membership name in your online member dashboard and on any membership related correspondence, including renewal forms and applications.

Please note, specific membership services will not be available between 7am and 1pm on 26 August whilst our team make the changes to the systems that support the membership programme. This includes access to the product search and barcode scanner tool, plus the venue guide and recipe service.

Yes, absolutely. In many areas, support has been improved and enhanced.

No. Your renewal date stays exactly the same unless you leave and rejoin at a later time.

The new tier is called Complete Care.

No, upgrading is completely optional. Complete Care is designed for members who want additional dietitian support, such as those newly diagnosed or supporting a loved one. You can stay on your current tier if it suits your needs.

Upgrades can only be made at renewal. If you pay by Direct Debit, please get in touch 3–4 weeks before your renewal date. Members who joined via the app will need to cancel their contract with the app store and are then able to re-join through our website and upgrade. You can also buy our Food & Drink Guide through the Shop as a one-off.

We have taken care to give more notice than required. Prices for new members changed in January, and many existing members are already on the updated fee. These changes are necessary to allow the  membership programme to evolve to meet the needs of the community now, and in the future. We have provided four weeks’ notice instead of the usual two.

We’re sorry to hear that, and we completely understand how you might feel. You can cancel at any time, although we hope you’ll stay with us. If you still want to support our work, you can choose to set up a regular gift, and purchase magazines and guides individually.

Yes, you don’t need to do anything.

Yes. If you already pay quarterly, you can continue to do so. Quarterly payments are no longer available for new members, but existing quarterly payers won’t be affected.

If you’d prefer to switch to monthly or annual payments instead, just get in touch with us and we can update this for you.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to continue historic fees, and all memberships now follow the updated pricing.

Existing payments can’t be refunded, but you can cancel your renewal and Direct Debit going forward. If you’d like to talk through your options, we’re here to help.

We’re introducing the new membership prices gradually to ease pressure on our in-house teams. If your renewal falls between now and the end of 2026, your price will increase at renewal. Members renewing in 2027 will see their price uplift applied in stages as well.

No, your eligibility remains the same with improved benefits and support.

We regularly review our services to ensure we’re meeting our members’ needs. Any future updates will continue to be made carefully, transparently, and with your experience at the centre of our decisions.
