Website policy

The success of our work is dependent on your goodwill and trust. It is important to us that we do everything we can to make sure that the information we provide on this site is up to date and accurate, and that any data or information we receive from you is handled according to the law. 
This page lists our website policies covering the content, review processes, privacy and terms of use. The site was launched in July 2019 to give accessible information to people of all ages affected by coeliac disease and the gluten free diet, including professionals working in the field. 
The information on this site is not intended to be an alternative to seeking professional help and advice. The information contained herein is for educational use only. If you believe you may be affected by coeliac disease, you should consult your GP.

Coeliac UK website observes a number of standards for accessibility including WAA. There is a text only option of the website.

Advertising

Coeliac UK accepts advertising which may be of interest to people with coeliac disease and those following a gluten free diet, both on their website and on other platforms. Catering training: our online module ‘Getting Gluten free Right'

Every effort is made to ensure that the information provided within our online training module is accurate and up to date, but no legal responsibility is accepted for any errors, omissions or misleading statements. Coeliac UK is not responsible for the subsequent implementation of such training into practice and shall not be liable for any damages incurred as a result of its use.

The Intellectual Property contained within the online training module remains the property of Coeliac UK at all times and in all circumstances, except where the transfer of rights have been expressly agreed in writing with the Chief Executive of Coeliac UK. All rights in Copyright are reserved to Coeliac UK. No part of the training material may be reproduced, copied, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted by any means without prior permission in writing from Coeliac UK.

Content on our website includes evidence based information about coeliac disease, living with the condition, progress in research, specialist information for care professionals, Coeliac UK’s services, campaigns, news and events. Content goes through a quality checking process before it is published.

Copyright and Trade Marks

Our website is covered by copyright and material may not be copied for public use without prior permission. If you would like to use any graphics or logos from the Coeliac UK website, you must request permission including the Coeliac UK logo.

Coeliac UK has trademarked a number of quality marks associated with providing safe gluten free food.

The Crossed Grain Symbol Trade Mark (registration number 2271202 and Community Trade Mark E2253748) is the property of Coeliac UK and may not be used without prior agreement. Similarly the GF symbol associated with our catering accreditation is a registered Trade Mark (registration number 2607715) and may not be used without prior agreement.

Documents may be copied for personal use, only on the condition that copyright and source indications are also copied, no modifications are made and the document is copied entirely. However, some documents and photos have been published on this site with the permission of the relevant copyright owners. All rights are reserved on these documents and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners.

Coeliac UK makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information in the Food and Drink Guide. However, we rely on information provided by manufacturers and retailers. Products and their ingredients can change without notice. Coeliac UK cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the Food and Drink Guide or any changes made to it. If you are in any doubt, please check the label or contact the manufacturer directly. If you are still in doubt, avoid the product.

The Food and Drink Guide published by Coeliac UK is only for use in the United Kingdom. Every precaution is taken to ensure that it is correct as far as companies and products in the UK are concerned. Coeliac UK cannot guarantee that products listed in the Food and Drink Guide will be suitable if purchased overseas. Many large multinational food companies have products that look and even taste the same the world over, but they may well contain ingredients according to local availability.

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to ensure that the information on the app is complete, correct and up to date, Coeliac UK cannot prevent changes being made to foods in manufacture without notice to us. Coeliac UK cannot guarantee that no changes have been made and shall not be liable whatsoever for any damages incurred as a result of its use.

This app is provided on the understanding that the expertise of Coeliac UK is in respect of its understanding gluten and not its understanding of IT. Coeliac UK will have used its best endeavours, in partnership with an IT provider, Food Maestro, to try and communicate to users information that is useful and accurate, but is not liable for any non-functionality of the app.

Use of this app and the information is entirely at the user's sole risk. In no event will Coeliac UK be liable for any damages including, without limitation, indirect or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising from the use or in connection with such use or loss of use of the app, whether in contract or in negligence. Health data for the Is It Coeliac Disease questionnaire is based on the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines for diagnosis of coeliac disease, which is the recognised body for quality in the medical field. https://www.nice.org.uk/

Coeliac UK aims to include links to websites that provide relevant and useful information for people living with coeliac disease and gluten free. We do not link to general health sites or unproven therapy sites and will not knowingly provide links to sites that contain illegal, offensive or misleading information. We will work to reflect our community and link to relevant blogs but this is by no means endorsement and Coeliac UK takes no responsibility for the content of these sites.

Where an organisation has regional or local services and associated websites, we will only link to their national website. We aim to link to UK-based websites to ensure information is appropriate and relevant to our members, and will only link to non-UK based websites when no equivalent website exists in the UK.

Although we do our best to ensure sites that we link to are appropriate, Coeliac UK takes no responsibility for the content of external internet sites owned and operated by others. Home of Gluten Free Recipes

Our Home of Gluten Free Recipes is compiled from recipes developed by Coeliac UK, submitted by our Members and other companies we have worked with. The information is checked and every reasonable effort is made to ensure that the information is complete, correct and up to date at the time it is added. However, this cannot be guaranteed and Coeliac UK shall not be liable for any damages incurred as a result of its use.

Shop

You can return any items you’re not happy with within 14 days of receipt for a full refund of the cost of the product, provided it is returned in saleable condition. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if goods are not returned in a saleable condition or they are damaged. 

If your goods are faulty, you can return them within 30 days of receipt for a full refund of the cost of the product.

Proof of postage is not proof of receipt.

Venue Guide

The Venue Guide is compiled from recommendations made by Members on their chosen venues and accredited venues we have worked with. The information is checked and every reasonable effort is made to ensure that the information is complete, correct and up to date at the time it is added. However, this cannot be guaranteed and Coeliac UK shall not be liable for any damages incurred as a result of its use.

Modification of the web policies

Coeliac UK may modify the terms of this agreement on this site. By using the site you agree to periodically review this agreement to be aware of any such revisions. Should the revision be unacceptable to you, you agree to stop accessing this site.
