The conference brings together physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dietitians, and others working in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology and will provide us with a great opportunity to connect with leading clinical researchers and clinicians from the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for us to support gastroenterology specialists involved with the diagnosis and follow up care of coeliac disease. We will share our popular one page summary of the diagnosis and management guidelines, a reminder for how important it is to make sure patients are eating enough gluten throughout the diagnosis pathway and ensure people with coeliac disease receive appropriate follow up support.
We will also showcase the support and work of Coeliac UK and highlight to healthcare professions how we can work together to champion coeliac disease.
Coeliac UK’s stand is on the ground floor, stall number G10. If you are attending the conference, please come and visit us, we would be delighted to speak with you.

Congratulations to Professor David Sanders
We are extremely delighted that Professor David Sanders, Chair of Coeliac UK’s Health Advisory Council, has been elected President-Elect of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
The BSG is an organisation dedicated to advancing the study and practice of gastroenterology and hepatology.
Professor Sanders will be President-Elect from June 2026, supporting the current President for two years and will then take over as President from June 2028.
Professor Sanders is Professor of Gastroenterology at The University of Sheffield and an NHS consultant based in The Academic Unit of Gastroenterology, Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Professor Sanders’ work has significantly improved the lives of people living with coeliac disease in the UK and internationally. He has been a key figure in advancing Sheffield’s reputation as an international hub for gastroenterology.
His contributions have helped Sheffield become a World Endoscopy Centre of Excellence, one of only 20 globally and only one of two in the UK to hold the prestigious title. And has also played an important role in Sheffield Teaching Hospital being recognised as an NHS England National Centre for Refractory Coeliac Disease.
Professor David Sanders said “I look forward to working alongside BSG President Dr Harriet Gordon to support our brilliant gastroenterology workforce and listen directly to every member to ensure they feel valued and engaged.”
Coeliac UK would like to offer huge congratulations to Professor Sanders and we look forward to seeing his future initiatives and their impact.
