Elections in 2026
2026 is a big year for elections in Scotland and Wales. On 7th May, voters across the two nations will head to the polls to decide who will represent them for the next four years. The outcome will shape decisions on a wide range of policies that affect people living with coeliac disease.
The election campaign period offers a great opportunity to speak to make your voice heard. Candidates are actively listening and seeking support so now is the time to raise awareness of coeliac disease, share your experiences, and ask for clear commitments from those hoping to be elected to the Scottish Parliament and the Senedd.
With a new parliamentary term comes new representatives. This creates a valuable opportunity to build relationships early, ensuring coeliac disease is firmly on the agenda from the start.
To support you in getting involved, we’ve created a range of practical resources. These include toolkits to help you engage confidently with candidates, along with briefing documents you can share to inform and influence their priorities.
