Did you know that our Board of Governors is supported by experts? Made up of experts from the food industry and headed by a barrister, our Food Standards Committee provides advice on food legislation and technical issues to ensure that the Charity’s food information and standards are up to date.

David Pickering from Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards says:

Being part of Coeliac UK’s Food Standards Committee is an opportunity to support the work of the charity by providing a regulator’s perspective on the issues discussed. It is also an ideal way to stay in touch with recent developments and learn about the challenges faced by those affected by coeliac disease. This in turn helps to inform our work when supporting food businesses to provide choice for consumers who need to avoid eating gluten. It also contributes to consumer confidence in the market place that the food they are buying is safe to eat.
