Oatibix product recall

9 February 2012

Oatibix is not suitable for people with coeliac disease on a gluten-free diet because the manufacturer cannot guarantee that the oats are uncontaminated, and they are made on the same line as Weetabix.

Because the manufacturer has informed us that they receive a lot queries from people asking if this product is suitable we are letting Members know about a recall of this product and also highlighting that the product is NOT gluten-free.

The following recall notice has been issued for the following product:

Oatibix Bites Sultana and Apple 550g

Codes: Best Before 22/01/2013 2022

This precautionary measure is being taken because, due to a packaging error, some packs do not declare that the product contains wheat. No other code or product is affected and only packs sold in Tesco may be affected.

What should you do?

Any consumers who have purchased Oatibix Bites Sultana and Apple 550g with the affected codes are advised to dispose of the product, and for a full refund, send the Best Before code from the top of the affected pack directly to:

Consumer Service Department, Freepost, Burton Latimer, Kettering, Northants, NN15 5JR

Consumer satisfaction is of paramount importance to us and we take any issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously.

The manufacturer apologises for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.

Consumers wanting more information can telephone their Consumer Service Department on 01536 721567 or email customerservice@oatibixbites.co.uk
