Be a case study

Share your storyCase studies are so important in helping us raise awareness of coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH). Raising awareness with the general public through the media, telling people about what coeliac disease/DH is like and the challenges faced by those with the condition, has so much more impact with stories of personal experience. Just by talking about your experiences, you could raise awareness of coeliac disease/DH and help someone get diagnosed.

The media often contact us looking to speak to people about their personal stories and we cannot do this important element of our work without the support of our Members.

All you would have to do initially is complete the form, giving us as much information as possible, then we would contact you if we had a media enquiry and you fit the brief. You would usually then speak to the journalist on the phone, but we would of course speak to you beforehand to make sure you were comfortable and had all the facts you needed. You may need to supply photos of yourself or a photographer may come to you.

It really is that simple. If you would like to help, please complete the form below, upload a recent photograph and share your story.

Case study personal details

Experiences with coeliac disease/DH

Please complete the sections below with as much detail as possible.

Please give a short history of the symptoms you experienced pre-diagnosis.

Please give a short history of any difficulties you came across obtaining a diagnosis.

Equally do you have anything else you would like to say about a gluten-free diet, particularly when eating out?

If so, please give details.

Has a particular GP or hospital actually been really helpful in your journey with coeliac disease or were you treated really poorly?

Please give details. For example, who and when were they diagnosed.

Prescriptions

As part of our work in opposing prescription cuts, we are looking for people affected by these cuts to act as case studies. This will allow us to give examples to the media of how these policy changes will affect people with coeliac disease.

If you've been affected by changes to access to gluten-free food on prescription, please let us know.

If you're unsure, please just provide your postcode
