Your Coeliac UK Food Information Service: October Update
29 September 2025
Following our summer update, we want to thank you again for your continued support as we have upgraded the systems that underpin our Food Information Service.
Over 185,000 products have been rigorously tested and uploaded into the Live Well Gluten Free app, which means that your product search via the Live Well Gluten Free app will now be returning the suitability of your chosen items for the gluten free diet. Additional dietary filters are also available, meaning you will be able to search based on other dietary requirements linked to a range of allergens and requirements such as kosher, halal, vegetarian, and vegan.
As the experts in coeliac disease for over 50 years, we know how important it is to be able to find products that are suitable for a gluten free diet. All of the 185,000+ products that are included in the Food Information Service are categorised and checked. This is to ensure you can trust the information that we provide.
What else should I be looking out for?
- The Venue Guide function is available on our app and website, with over 3,000 participating venues under-pinned by our Gluten Free Accreditation Standard, to help you find a place to eat gluten free.
- As our website upgrade project is ongoing, the product search function will be made available later this year.
Please remember the following resources are also available to support you with your gluten free diet:
- Ready made lists for popular searched items
- Seasonal lists
- Prescribable product information
- Monthly updates to our printed Food and Drink Guide
- Food Alerts on gluten free product recalls and withdrawals

Do I need to enable push notifications?
Push notifications are a quick way for us to let you know when updates are available in the app, and when there are food alerts or product recalls. You will receive these messages as device notifications when you are not using the app. So please do enable this feature if you’re happy for us to communicate you in this way. Alternatively, keep an eye on our website as we will share updates on the Food Information Service here too.
Why did you have to check each product before releasing it back into the service?
We’ve changed, improved and increase the validation measures we use to check products that are part of our Food Information Service.
When will product information be available on the website?
Our website is the central hub for trusted, expert information and for a number of important services for our community. Our website upgrade project will enable us to make further improvements to the Food Information Service. To ensure there are no inconsistencies in our Food Information Service, the product search function will be unavailable on our website for the next few months. You will still be able to search products via the Live Well Gluten Free app.
