Taking it slow
Get out your slow cooker and prepare some warming, delicious and comforting food for the darker colder months. Developed by our own home economist Louise, the coeliac uk foodies have picked out their favourite recipes.
Nicola - "I've opted for the good old veggie staple – the risotto! A hearty dish flavoured with sweet cherry tomatoes. Paired with the salad (pun intended!) this makes for a perfect midweek meal, ideal for all the family."
Sam - "Lamb is my favourite meat and curry is often bubbling away in my kitchen, therefore this recipe gets my recommendation. I like to put the slow cooker on low and cook for 6-8 hours to come back to mouth water lamb and well developed flavours. We've also got a great chapati recipe that goes great with this curry."
Lorna - "Slow cooked gammon is a tasty meat and can be used in making a number of different recipes. This fennel slaw salad is a crunchy flavoursome recipe and the anise like flavour goes great with the gammon. Fennel provides a source of calcium, iron and folate which can contribute towards your days needs."
