Can I set up more than one profile?

At this time only one user profile can be created per app account. However, the benefit of our Household membership is that each member can have their own online account and app profile and login credentials. If you would like to amend your membership then please get in touch on generalenquiries@coeliac.org.uk

How often are products updated?

Product listings are updated daily.

Can I download the app onto my iPad, Kindle Fire and other tablets?

Although you can download the app on other devices such as an iPad, the app has been specifically designed to work on a mobile phone. The barcode scanner will not work on a tablet.

New app functions planned for early 2023

Our app contains many great features and Coeliac UK is committed to investing in the app to ensure it provides the very best user experience and features to help those who have coeliac disease or follow a gluten free diet for other reasons.

When the app launched in January 2023 it had most of the previous functions. We’ll continue to work on the development of the app in the background and over the course of 2023 you will see several new exciting features and functionality, including recipes, shopping lists, news and articles.

You will notice that some of the regular features such as our ready-made lists, favourites, full venue and product search filtering and venue ratings and reviews from our previous apps are not on the current app but will be re-introduced very soon. Some of these features are still available with the website services.

If you would like to suggest a new feature for our app, then please get in touch by emailing generalenquiries@coeliac.org.uk

Why are there more products in this app than in the printed Food and Drink Guide?

Our Food and Drink Guide is a reference publication and includes over 6,000 products suitable for a gluten free diet. These include products with our Crossed Grain Trademark and supermarket own brand products which by nature do not include gluten, as well as useful information on reading labels, understanding ingredients and gluten free prescribing. The Guide does not include products that are labelled gluten free (without our Crossed Grain Trademark) nor products such as fruits, vegetables and plain meat and fish. However, these are included in the product listings in the Coeliac UK Live Well Gluten Free app.

How do I set up my profile?

  1. Select ‘Account’ from the menu bar at the bottom of the app.
  2. Within your ‘My Account’ area, select ‘Dietary preferences’.
  3. You will then see three ‘gluten filters’ and you will need to make sure ‘gluten’ and ‘may contain cereals’ are ‘on’
  4. You can also add Extra Gluten Options (GF oats, Codex Wheat Starch) as well as other common allergens to select for your profile. Check that the filters are correct for your dietary needs and ‘toggle’ on or off as required. Now when you complete a product search it will be tailored to your newly saved preferences. Alongside each product will be a key:

The app includes other allergens, do I need to start excluding these from my gluten free diet too?

No, this app enables you to create a profile specific to your dietary preferences. If you do not want to include any other dietary preferences, you only need to keep the gluten filters on.

Do I need to set up a new password?

No, your existing Coeliac UK login details will work (the same details you use to log in to our website).

If you’ve forgotten your login details, you can follow the forgotten password link on the login screen of the app and create a new password.

My login details are not working?

Your login details need to be the same email address and password you use to log in to our website and your membership for Coeliac UK needs to be up to date. If you’ve forgotten your login details, you can follow the forgotten password link on the login screen of the app and create a new password.
