Don’t miss us on This Morning on 17 January!

12 January 2024

Following some concerning coverage of coeliac disease featured on This Morning in December, we wrote an open letter to express our concerns and following discussions with ITV we’re excited to share the next update with you.

Frankie and her mum Nicola were due to appear on the show on Wednesday 10 January, to talk about life before and after her diagnosis of coeliac disease at 18 months old. Unfortunately, Frankie came down with chicken pox earlier in the week. Thankfully, she’s feeling ok (and still full of beans!) but as she was still in the contagious stage it wasn’t safe for her to travel nor be on the show.

We’re all disappointed (especially Frankie!) but the wonderful This Morning team have found a way to schedule us for next week when Frankie will be well again.

Frankie and Nicola will be joined on the sofa by Professor David Sanders, an expert in the field and chair of the Coeliac UK Health Advisory Council. Make sure you join us! We hope that this focus on coeliac disease and the complexity of living gluten free will help us raise awareness and bring it to the table more regularly.

We don’t have a confirmed time for when it will be on so if you can’t watch the whole show, don’t forget to set your recorder – we’d like other shows to let us talk more about coeliac disease on a regular basis and the more people who watch and comment, the more opportunities we’ll be able to secure.

A huge thanks to ITV for inviting us on, it’s great to see a major broadcaster helping to raise awareness of the condition. We’re also really grateful to you, our community. You helped make this happen!

Make sure to catch the show on 17 January!
