Research Conference 2019 - The gluten free diet; a solution for everyone?
Our Research Conference 2019, entitled ‘The gluten free diet; a solution for everyone?’ was held on 29 March at the Royal College of Physicians, London. Leading researchers in coeliac disease, the gluten free diet and other associated disciplines were invited from around the world to bring the very latest developments to healthcare professionals and researchers in the UK.
It was our fifth year running where we had a call for abstracts with a £500 prize for the best poster. Dr Elizabeth Soilleux, University of Cambridge, claimed the prize for her poster on the 'Use of T cell-specific RNA in situ hybridisation as a novel test to distinguish malignant (lymphomatous) and benign (inflammatory) T cell infiltrates: a possible new approach in the diagnosis of refractory coeliac disease'. The award for highly commended poster went to Elisabeth Baggus, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
We filmed the event to extend its reach to healthcare professionals and researchers who were unsuccessful in securing a place at the conference and for our members who also like to be kept informed of research into coeliac disease and the gluten free diet.
