Macsween gluten free haggis kofta kebabs

A delicious alternative to the traditional gluten free haggis, neeps and tatties.

Ingredients

  • 300g (10½oz) Macsween gluten free haggis
  • 300g (10½oz) minced Scottish lamb or beef
  • 1 tsp (5g) finely chopped red chilli
  • 50g (1½oz) finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp (5g) cumin powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp (10g) coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tsp (10g) fresh coriander chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • Maldon sea salt and freshly milled black pepper
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) vegetable oil for cooking koftas

Method

  1. Remove the outer casing from the haggis, cut off 300g, crumble the haggis and add lamb mince
  2. Add the onion, chilli, garlic and coriander mix in the spices until well blended, season
  3. Divide into 8 x 80g balls; roll out each ball to form a sausage, place in the fridge to firm up
  4. Heat the grill to high heat
  5. Thread the koftas onto 8 skewers, brush with oil and season
  6. Grill until cooked through and piping hot
  7. Place the koftas kebabs on the plate, garnish with chopped mint
  8. Serve with basmati rice, flat breads and natural yogurt.
